Rome, 67 A.D.: Christian persecution under Emperor Nero was at it's apex, and Paul (James Faulkner) one of the most influential advocates of Christ's teachings, languished in Mamertine prison awaiting execution. As he agreed to cooperate with the Greek physician Luke (Jim Caviezel), who arranged his own imprisonment to record Paul's story, Paul brokered a transformative bond with his Roman jailer (Olivier Martinez).
