Danielle Rose Russell returned as teenage vampire/werewolf/witch "tribrid" Hope Mikaelson, who sought to master her supernatural abilities alongside the similarly "gifted" fellow students at the uncanny academy run by headmaster Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis).
