This CD's title phrase "In the Pocket" is meant to express that moment in music where everything lines up, fits neatly into place and feels right for both the players and the listeners. Trombonist John Hines' CD is all about playing solidly in the changes and enjoying the feel of the rhythm. Guest trumpeter Hugh Ragin calls it tapping into the "spirituality of the molecules."
