All of these songs are traditional songs of the Makonde region of Zimbabwe, played on the njari, the traditional type of mbira (thumb piano) indigenous to the area. Jacob sings and plays njari on all tracks. Martha Thom joins him on hosho (shakers) and vocals on two tracks. Hosho on other tracks is by Peacheson Ngoshi. The recording was made in Santa Cruz,California in September 2011.
