I grew up around country, bluegrass, and gospel music and as far back as I can remember I was exposed to a lot of porch picking. I never grew tired of this music and started playing guitar and singing at an early age and also started writing songs. I have been inspired most by early fifties through late seventies country music and I feel it strongly. So many great songs and sounds of that era, by some of those great singers like George Jones, Gene Watson, Merle Haggard, Marty Robbins and Hank Snow, to name a few, have enriched my life so much and somehow I hope that the emotion and feeling I have received from their music can flow through me, into my music.
