The Abyss was formed in 1995. This album, A Fleet of Sixty, was their second full-length album. Most of the songs were written by Dave Sery, the bands lead singer and lead guitar player. The band consisted of five players: guitar/lead vocals, bass, keyboards/back-up vocals, drums, and percussion/back-up vocals. The band was known for not just their album work, but also their live shows. They, like other 'jam bands' so to speak, were not afraid to try different things right on the spot. They felt that that was the essence of a true musician- one who could improvise well with other musicians. Enjoy!
