End to This Line
Formed in New York City, Zenen are an electro-rock trio fusing pulsing beats, haunting melodies and electronic ambiences. Their music could be described as a mixture of Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Placebo with hints of New Order and Underworld. After several collaborations with producers, bands and musicians Jesus Martinez packed his bags and headed out to Barcelona, Berlin, Miami and New Orleans in search of inspiration and space to concentrate. This is where he began to write and create what two years later would become the new album An End To This Line (ZM Recordings). Upon his return to the big apple he called long-time friend and musical cohort Ian Cook to help him take the album from studio to stage. A few weeks later Jay McBride came across an ad online that peeked his interest and after one night of jamming at the studio his unique approach to guitars spoke for itself and the trio was complete. So far 2007 has been a busy year for the band as they tweaked the final knobs on the mixes leading up to the release of An End To This Line, showcased at US and European festivals such as SXSW in Austin, Winter Music Conference in Miami and recently Sonar Festival in Barcelona with one-off shows in London. They also filmed the music video for the first single Stuck In Time with short film director Jose Quizon. The video is currently being aired on MTVU, LOGO, MTV Japan and several music video networks. All this while preparing new material and remixes for upcoming releases for later this year.
