Waves from the Sky
The first solo album by Zeit is a true revelation. After two albums in collaboration with Alio Die with a more acoustic quality, in "Waves from the Sky" Tommaso Cimò undertakes electronic orchestrations with inserts of bass and guitars perfectly integrated. You can find attachments with the best mystic and cosmic music of the 70's, translated with a subtle sensibility into new territories of ambient music with a very fine touch. CD packaged in an elegant three-paneled digipack. LABEL PRESS Regarding the two previous collaborations with Alio Die ("Sunja" & "Raag Drone Theory") the new work of Tommaso Cimò shows an unknown side of the music of Zeit. In the six long compositions of "Waves From The Sky" there are, in fact, nearly completely absent the acoustic textures that had characterized the drones of those intense activities. Here instead Tommaso preprefers the electronic synthesis making extensive use of electric instruments. The quality of his music does not change. Thus like the deep quiet that he can communicate through sounds. The grammar used is the one coined by Tangerine Dream 40 years ago and in constant update on the kiva of Steve Roach. Zeit is already between the maximum weights of the ambient-electronic. ROCKERILLA This time Tommaso Cimò aka Zeit makes all by himself, using the help of Alio Die only for the final production. And once again there are soundscapes recorded in several quite nights between April and August 2007. Six long tracks of deep ambient with flavours of vintage cosmic memory and several moments of great intensity: between the loops, the tibetan bells and the zither of 'First Communication', between the synths and the field recordings of 'Sunset Elegy', or between the ecstatic abandon of 'The Vision', Zeit catches you in his personal stream of consciousness as 'waves from the sky', exactly. BLOW UP.
