Have You No Love
Yngve & The Innocent [pronounced Ing-vuh] German-born and Irish-raised, Yngve Wieland has been simmering under the skin of the music industry since 2004. Growing up in rural Sligo in the eighties his dads weekly blues sessions fuelled his interest in music. Fast-forward to adulthood and young Yngve has, amongst numerous headline appearances, shared bills with Jape, Katell Keineg, The Pipettes and Paul Weller, and has now released his debut full-length album. Featuring a full band, guest musicians and cover art by Dublin artist and musician Bennie Reilly, the album comes in a carbon neutral CD package consisting of recycled paper and a corn starch CD Tray. Launched in Whelans, Dublin on October 29th last, that month also saw Yngve and his Band perform live on the R.T.E. Radio 1 show 'Today with Pat Kenny' and on the Roadcaster with Jenny Greene when he was special guest for the 2fm School of Rock in The Abbey Centre in Ballyshannon. 'Tell Men This' was selected by Jump.ie as one of the best 3 Irish indie albums of 2008 buying 100 copies to send out to friends and clients in the marketing industry. The album track 'little boy' was also chosen by Irish music mag Hot Press to have a video made for it by the famous New York Tisch School for the Arts which was premiered along with the other selections in the Sugar Club, Dublin last December. It has recently been featured by Dave Fanning on his New R.T.E. 2 TV Show 'The 11th Hour' Since moving to London, Yngve has been busy rehearsing and gigging, with his new touring band 'The Innocent' [Ned Cartwright, Palmi Gunnlaugur Hjaltason and his brother Demian Wieland] coming on board. Regular shows in Brixton's Windmill Venue and two 4 Week Residencies in East London's 'George Tavern' have quickly seen the quartet meld into a formidable live outfit. The start of 2009 saw Yngve reunite with album producer Eoin Bailey in London and the results are the first recordings featuring current band 'The Innocent'. To coincide with Yngve's largest Irish Tour to date, new track 'Have You No Love' will be released as a Download Single on July 14th. 'Yngve & The Innocent' will also be making their Irish Festival Debut this year at Castlepalooza on August 1st.
