Product notities

YAO was born and raised in Ghana, he had love for music since he was a little kid. He used to sing hymns to friends of his family. Most of the people he sang to were touched by his singing and hence they gave him gifts. At the early teenage age, he started listening to Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley, and Johnny Nash's music. He got influenced by their music, then at the age of 16 he started writing songs. He taught himself how to play bass guitar, and later guitar. He joined a band after that. Despite many attempts to make an album, it never happened. But he never gave up this dream. For the past 20 years he's been living in Yokohama, Japan. Through encouragements from his friends, he decided to pursue the dream. He started recording in 2010 with his friends and the album was released in January 2011. The album is called 'Yokohama' because it is the city he has lived the longest in his life. And secondly, he has seen the city developed during his time here. He feels so connected to the city that he decided to dedicate the album to the city. He is inviting people to come and see the city Yokohama.
