While not a concept album per se, Xilehom's debut album 'Light Years' is thematic and was intended to be a seamless thread of a combination of concepts all centered around a spiritual theme. Though the themes are spiritual they are not to be confused with any organized religious dogma and are most certainly not preachy, yet they humbly invite the listener to imagine a world devoid of ego where no racial, spiritual, financial, or emotional divides exist. The message is an oldie but a goodie, and that is to simply Love. Musically speaking, the project was written with no concern for what is selling now or what is marketable, although the Artists truly believe there is always a market for quality and artistic integrity. The arrangements beg to stand on their own and defy classification except one-Great. Using an impressive array of vintage amps, guitars, keys and effects the project has all the elements of a classic record only it was recorded just last year (2009). So dive in and enjoy. This is an album that you want to start with track one and not open your eyes until the end of the last track, and if there is time, repeat.
