World Soul Project The WSP is a group of musicians that banded together for the first time in this incarnation in 2004. The group assembled to organize a sound that would honor and blend the contributions of indigenous cultures along with American Jazz. Jazz represents Democracy in it's truest sense. Indigenous cultures represent folk wisdom that predates our current day media culture. The group consists of Gerard Harris, guitarist, composer and recording engineer.; Ben Flint, keyboardist, composer; Barry Campbell and Dywane Thomas Jr, bassists, groove regulators: James Sexton, drummer; Ekpe and Melvin Turner, percussion; Will Graves, singer/songwriter; Tamara Jones-Monger and Valencia Robinson, vocalists; and T.O.Crivens, spoken word, affirmations. The selections they write feature heavy African grooves, gentle Brazilian rhythms, and danceable Jamaican beats. Southern soul imbues a modern interpretation of Summertime as well as Will Grave's anthem, Anywhere. Columbian songstress Marcella Pinilla joins Graves on his second offering, proclaiming "Love Is All That Matters To Me" in Spanish. T.O. speaks his mind on issues from musical brotherhood to planetary responsibility. As the world spins closer to profound transformation, the World Soul Project spins tunes that tell of a coming age - Spirits Talk, Energy Shift, Mother Earth, Sudan in Our Prayers. No one knows what the future holds, you got to Open Your Heart To See....
