For Your Glory
The Vision for this recording project has been brewing in my heart and mind for a number of years now. The idea came from asking these questions: How do we as a church continue to build and equip our people to grow as authentic, passionate worshipers? What can we do as a worship ministry to develop and disciple our church in the area of worship? How can we encourage one another to sing joyfully and play skillfully (Psalm 33) as praise to the Lord? This CD is one way of answering these questions. This is a collection of our Worship Team's favorite songs - songs that have ministered to us as worshipers, and songs that we want our congregation to know. My prayer is that God will bless and use these songs to inspire His people to worship Him with passion and grace. As you listen, reflect on God's greatness, goodness and grace. Take these words of proclamation, praise, petition and prayer and make them your own. Use these songs to remind yourself of who God is and what He's done. Then speak, sing and shout these songs as praise to the One from whom all blessings flow. Psalm 96:1-3* Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. Special Thanks is due to too many people to mention here. This has been a project for the church and by the church. All the people involved have donated their time, talent and treasures to make this vision a reality. The amount of work and number of hours to produce a project of this scope is staggering. We spent 3 months planning and 4 months recording and producing. There were over 90 volunteers from the church directly involved in this project: 14 band members, 10 background vocalists, 36 adult choir members, 25 in the kids choir, 3 audio technicians, and a few others in support roles. Obviously, I cannot thank all these people adequately, but one person needs to be mentioned: Destry Jinks, Sr. - better know to us as Jinx. He has spent more time and energy on this project than anyone else - donating the use of recording equipment, tracking nearly every recording and overdub on the album, mixing and mastering for countless hours and late nights... and doing all with a contagious joy, passion and enthusiasm for God's work and His glory. Thanks, Jinx. You're a great gift to our church. Of course, ultimately, all the glory, praise and thanks goes to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. So Lord, we present and commit this album and it's use to You and Your glory. Amen.
