If you are a fan of hard techno you must own a White Dwarf album! If you are not a fan of electronic music you now cannot deny that techno is more authentic, genuine, and stylish than ever before. Dark, mysterious, angelic, heavy, emotional, visual, expansive: These are the words that come to mind in an attempt to describe the works of White Dwarf. Watching him manipulate his gear; he shuffles through samples, sequences, filters, triggering heavy bass drums and distorted spacey leads behind a minimalist composition of electronic percussion. Closing his eyes, bobbing his head like a metal guitarist (but rather than a guitar) he towers over his sampler. MALSTROM will tell you that it comes from someplace else; channeling from deep space as if some odd alien being possesses him to bring these tracks to earth from some nebulous planet, vega distant. MALSTROM can improvise techno like Theloneous Monk on a piano, or Miles Davis on a horn. He doesn't use computer software, only samplers, drum machines, and vintage synths. The first album is a collection of analog tapes recorded in the early and mid 90's. He bounced them to a hard disc recorder in 2000 and called it his first LP. 'GOD OF GRAPES'; 400 copies were gifted to select record stores across the U.S. Those 'tapes' hold as much weight as any expensively produced techno album of it's time. It is completely it's own. In 2003 MALSTROM released the sequel to 'Grapes' - 'MARBLE SPELL'- an 8 track EP of hard techno tracks. MALSTROM'S third and current release: 'Silent Teatment' is filled with classical dark melodies, hardstyle rhythms, goth motifs that invoke your imagination. The album unfolds like chapters in a book. Anvil Candle Records distributes cult techno music to fans and retailers worldwide.
