If I Had the Power
William C. Crews, vocalist, keyboardist and arranger, was born in Henderson, NC and grew up in the adjacent town of Warrenton, NC. The youngest of five brothers and sisters, music was always a mainstay in the Crews household. Few were surprised when William became the featured male soloist for the 1969 North Carolina State University Choir Christmas Concert. Following his Mother's untimely death, he chose to study music theory, voice, composition and production. He also honed his skills with several R&B musical groups. William is married to the former Doris Crenshaw and together they have three adult children. His musical growth has spawned numerous original compositions and collaborations. He is an accomplished digital music composer. David White, featured keyboardist and arranger, grew up in Highland, California where his grandmother, Janice Rhyne, taught several instruments including the piano. By age thirteen David was playing for a church in San Bernardino where he developed a gospel and jazzy sound. At age fifteen, David recorded a four track CD for the San Bernardino School District. During his high school years, he played at school events, such as musical plays and graduation ceremonies. Rogers Davis, the Producer for this project and drummer, is a native of Warrenton, NC. He grew up, the youngest of a large and loving family. He was encouraged by his musical mentor to play the drums as a teenager. During his college and law school years at North Carolina Central University, he played in R & B groups. Following which, he played in a jazz trio with two friends for several years. His interest in music is a life long passion. He believes that the lyrics of the songs on the 'IF I HAD THE POWER' CD represent a way of conveying and promoting a sincere message of love and compassion for both God and those whom we love.
