Random Acts of Regret
Started in July of 2008, this Akron, Ohio based quartet has just released their debut full length album 'Random Acts of Regret' on their own independent label, Amsterdamned Music. The band spent nearly two years in the studio with producer Jeffrey Klemm (Maid Myriad, Via Lotus) plugging away at recording the 13 song album. With such ties to groups such as Gasoline Heart, the Ataris, Mest, Four Year Strong, Man Overboard, etc.; these Midwest alt-punks are no rookies, hanging out in mom and dad's garage, playing Green Day covers at the high school talent show; these guys have credibility and talent. The group consists of Dustin Konig, spearheading WKK on lead vocals and pulling off guitar and keyboard duties, Michael James on guitar, Joe Wallman on drums and Charles Miller on bass guitar and the occasional vocal moonlighting. The record also features Klemm doing some keyboard work and a guest vocal appearance by Natasha Addessi (Via Lotus) on the acoustic version of the song 'The Annexation of Port-o-Rico' which is not listed on the track listing but is the 'hidden' 13th track on the album. The group also redecorate two tracks, 'The Jennifer Curse' and 'The Ghost and the Goodbye', which originally appeared on their 2009 e.p. Title 'An Accident In Waiting'. All in all, this record is a seamless listen through from start to finish.
