Awake & Alive
Well the day has finally come: the new album Awake & Alive is officially out. This is Washed in White's first full-length album. We tracked the album fairly quick. We only had two days to lay the nine tracks down and then another two days to mix and master them; a normal album usually takes a few weeks to finalize. So despite our limited time, we buckled down and put together a record that we're very happy with. The title of the album isn't derived from just one song from the album, but all the songs come together to form this message of living life Awake & Alive. Each song touches upon life and it's importance in one way or another. You Called My Name embraces the idea that each of us has a calling in this life. Empty Space shows us how Christ has consumed our hearts with a sense of hope that allows us to be truly Alive. O Sleeper calls for dreamers to wake up and live out their dreams into fruition by the power of Christ. Take Me There is about the ultimate sensation of belonging, and how breathing and being alive is not the same thing. Wrong and Right is about being aware and awake to God's moral truths. Another Day's message is about living each day to the fullest, and living each day WIDE AWAKE. Let It Go is about the feeling of human interaction, the good and bad, and about forgetting your anger to focus on your life in Christ. The eighth song, Longing of My Soul, is about having the real desire to live a life for the glory of God. And When You're Gone expresses the frailty of life and how important it is to live every second Awake & Alive. Our desire for this album is that it glorifies our creator and Lord, Jesus Christ. Secondly, we hope it can touch lives. Each song has a message that everyone needs to hear, and we long for Christ to use our music as a vessel for His purpose and will.
