This one time, in this one place, a meteor fell from the sky. Interrupting the stillness of the night, it hurtled towards the earth an an immense velocity. With an epic explosion, the meteor struck the ground, throwing up a massive cloud of fire and dust. As quickly as it had began, it had ended, and as the earth settled and the air cleared, four figures emerged. They came with guitars, drums sticks, and a lamp. One of them turned to the others and said in a nonchalant tone, 'Well, let's play some music, then.' And that's how it all began. Josh and Darcy laid the foundations of Walking Backwards on December 23rd, 2004. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion. Building off a combined 19 years of musical experience in classical guitar and piano, the duo began writing songs., In 2008, they recorded their first album, 'Faith In Shadows' which kept the dedicated duo busy for many long months. In the fall of 2008, they traveled the world to find themselves (turns out they were in Calgary the whole time) and came back with a fresh vision and drive to share their music with the masses. Quade, a human drum machine, brings incredible drums to the mix as well as a technical genius that allows him to understand the meaning of terms such as 'Diminishing Cyclic Fields.' Marya fell in love with the songs as a fan, and was later approached and asked to be a part those songs she loved. Having never touched a bass, the guys understood that it could be a grueling few months for her to learn all the songs. Turns out, she was ready in two weeks. This demo showcases only a few of the many songs described as epic, sweeping, and melodic. Best band to emerge from the crater of a meteor. Ever.
