Quiettracks: I Listen for the Still Voice 1
About the CD: As you listen to Quiettracks, it only takes a moment to shift your focus from the commotion of your busy day to the stillness and peace deep within. Quiettracks have been created to use throughout your day as brief reMinders of what you know and who you are....already. Quiettracks simply point to the peace that is always present beneath the mind's chatter. Listen to Quiettracks anywhere, anytime as a complete CD or one track at a time; with a single click on your PC/MAC desktop or with a computer reMinder program; shuffled on your ipod or any mp3 player; on your CD player as you wake up or fall asleep; or on your cell phone (check your model for this option) About the artist: Like so many of you, I find myself in the midst of a shift in my consciousness.... an awakening so to speak. As I've been going along this new (for me) path, I've realized how helpful it is to have a 'voice' that reMinds me of who I really am. Words are only words and are always inadequate in expressing deep truths but they can point me in the direction I want to go and can be with me on this journey with it's bumps and challenges as well as it's great revelations and joy. So I created Quiettracks to do just that.... to be with me! I play them on my CD player and on my computer with an alarm/reMinder program (see the link on my Voice of Stillness website if you'd like to know which one I love) and I use them shuffled in a playlist on my MP3 player as well. The idea is that they just pop up here and there and help me to shift back into the moment and find that still peace that is always there. They are very short and can be used anytime and anywhere. I hope you will try them too and see how helpful they can be. Here is just a bit more info if you'd like to know 'why' they can be so helpful. How Quiettracks can help: Quiettracks messages bring you to a place of peaceful, still focus for just a moment as they help you to hear your own inner voice. Many spiritual teachers tell us that frequent, brief shifts in our focus throughout the day can have immeasurable effects on our well-being. In "Ask and It is Given," Abraham says that 'within 17 seconds of focusing on something, a matching vibration is activated' and that 'if you manage to stay focused upon any thought for as little as 68 seconds, the vibration is powerful enough that it's manifestation begins.' (page 109) Rick Hanson, PhD. a neuropsychologist and author of "Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom" says that staying with a positive thought/experience for 20 to 30 seconds helps 'it become wired into the brain.' He references the research of Marc Lewis and others who have shown that 'the longer something is held in awareness and the more emotionally stimulating it is, the more neurons that fire and thus wire together, and the stronger the trace in memory.' (Huffington Post 9/23/10) Quiettracks messages are designed to create this brief shift in focus and energy.... a shift to a peaceful and positive state which can be very beneficial in forming new patterns of thinking and being.
