LIttle Circles is the debut CD by The Vespertine Orchestra. The titles comes from Sadie Sonntag's idea how all music is essentially made of small blocks of melodic and harmonic ideas that are looped. These chunks then become a larger organism over time. The roots of the music may be considered Minimalism as pioneered by the likes of Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Lamonte Young, Steve Reich, and later, John Adams, but the heart of the music is in it's emphasis on dynamics, timbre, and subtle rhythmic changes. Of course, the music is music you either sit back and listen, or get up and dance.
