From the Top of Your Lungs
In the fall of 2009, Van Gogh Rescue vaulted onto the Arizona music scene and captivated audiences with a fresh sound, blending elements of progressive rock, funk, and alternative music. Boasting songs that are catchy enough to remember long after the curtains are drawn, but insightful enough to beg a second listen, Van Gogh Rescue immediately set themselves apart from the mainstream with their unique yet identifiable sound. Drawing influence from such divergent tastes as modern day rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers and Incubus to timeless songwriters like Pink Floyd and The Beatles, Van Gogh Rescue has effectively broken the tether that might otherwise constrain them to a specific genre. Best known for their impassioned live performances, Van Gogh Rescue's stage presence is transcended only by their intricate musicianship on display during each distinctive tune. Van Gogh Rescue can attribute much of it's mass appeal to it's broad set of geographical backgrounds and varying musical experiences. Front man BJ Bunting (Arizona) always leaves his guts onstage, imploring listeners to find deeper meaning within his lyrics by summoning a voice that is equal parts soulful and spontaneous. The rhythm section is tight enough to hold down the stormiest of melodies as bassist Ryan Cutshall (Minnesota) lays down aggressive grooves that perfectly complement the ferocity and precision with which drummer Geoff Whetstone (Tennessee) plies his craft. Brad Sconzert (New York) wields a guitar that is as unique in style as it is prolific in substance. While his soaring riffs and psychedelic sound effects are perhaps the most distinguishing aspect of this quartet, his backing vocal harmonies draw proper attention to the melodic sound for which Van Gogh Rescue is known. Van Gogh Rescue creates their music with a collectively open mind and without pretense in order to create the most original sound possible, allowing fans to genuinely connect with their music. Their performances demand the full attention of their audiences who are regularly seen screaming for more. Van Gogh Rescue continues to grow and engage it's already loyal fan base with each successive performance and expects to tour throughout 2011 in support of their debut album which is set to be released this fall. Van Gogh Rescue is currently booking performances at venues all across Arizona with no intention of slowing down!
