Just 1 World
URIEL SERI - "Just 1 World" Uriel Seri's first solo album is an eclectic blend of style, culture and language. After 20 years of experience playing drums and percussion with many of the worlds great artists Seri has now put this vast knowledge in a big pot, shaken it up and poured out a mixture rich in originality. Percussion and drums from Ivory Coast and Marocco, keyboards from Norway, guitars and sax from Norway and France, bass from Ivory coast and Denmark to name some. Songs are in English,French, norwegian, and arabic as well as local dialects from Ivory Coast - bete, dida, baoule and gouro. As the album title suggests, the theme of the album is about real issues in a multi-cultural world. Seri's songs are about children, old people, war and climate change. The issues are serious but the mood of the album is uplifting. Danceable rhythms are mixed with melody and song in an enchanting and beautiful way. The seeds for this great work germinated in Abijan, Ivory Coast with keyboard, bass and drums being laid down for the "demo" by Seri together with his brothers and sisters. Much of this early work was still kept in the final mixes of these tracks including the keyboard parts from Seri's young sister, Regina (12 years of age), and bass from his brother Armand-Effi.
