Eric Whitacre is not only a superb composer, he is also very loyal and dedicated to his composer friends. This is why they started the consortium "BCM International". BCM International is a consortium of like minded composers who create original works for symphonic winds. The goal is to create music not bound by traditional thought or idiomatic cliché. The selections display works from Eric Whitacre: "Noisy Wheels of Joy", "Cloudburst" for voice and wind band, and "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas". Steven Bryant displays his genius in his works: "Interruption Overture", "Alchemy in Silent Spaces", and "Monkey". Jonathan Newman, is a third member and is equally adept in supplying us with his selections: "OK, Feel Good", "moon by Night" and the comedic "Uncle Sid". James Bonney is last on our list, but that doesn't mean he isn't worthy. His works include: "Reflections in a Tidal Pool", and a snappy work titled "Chaos Theory" for electric guitar and Wind Band. A listen to this CD will break you of those "same old music blues!"
