The American Songbook, written for Broadway and Hollywood in the 20's, 30's, 40's, is truly a national treasure. These songs tell of love in way I didn't understand in my youth. Now that I have lived more, loved more and learned more, I am beginning to understand. Traditional Pop is a style. Some people think it is only 'old' songs that are Traditional Pop, those written decades ago, but Traditional Pop is more about a way of 'expressing' songs. Many of these songs have a Broadway feel and in fact were popular versions of hit songs from Broadway Shows. Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy lee and others made these Broadway songs seem personal. What I have written is personal songs in the Traditional Pop Style. I hope you enjoy them.
