Trees-One Voice Trees, Lindsay Tomasic and Jesse Fitzpatrick, natives of Upper Michigan's Copper Country, have been crafting songs and creating fine acoustic music since the early1970's. They first appeared on the music scene as teenagers, creating original songs on acoustic instruments and harmonizing with an impeccable and effortless vocal blend. They created a buzz and a loyal cult following that stayed with their music into the millennium. Today, the sound of Trees continues to captivate audiences of all ages. This 2010 release, One Voice is tasteful and sparsely produced. The album features twelve songs. Five of the songs were recorded live by producer/engineer Geoff Michael of Big Sky Recording Studios in Ann Arbor, MI. The album concept took on a new direction when Lindsay and Jesse sat together in the live room at Big Sky and decided to give fans what they have been asking for over the years: a recording of their live sound. Making a decision to do something like this can be tricky. You really have to be confident in your live sound and be in an ideal recording environment. The stars aligned for Trees and Geoff Michael. The sessions were effortless and Geoff's talents as a producer and engineer helped to bring it all together. Of course, musicians love production. Lindsay had a handful of songs that she and Jesse recorded at Lindsay's studio Datolite Recording in Los Angeles. Lindsay had been working in LA on of a handful of Trees songs with some amazing musicians. After the Big Sky sessions, Lindsay spent some time listening to this batch of songs, and highlighting some of the studio production moments without taking anything away from the Trees signature. Lindsay and Jesse then cherry-picked the songs that complimented the five that were recorded at Big Sky and One Voice was born. Contributing musicians to One Voice include: Dave Pearlman: pedal steel, dobro Guerin Barry: whistle Joseph Pusateri: drums, percussion Larry Tuttle: upright bass Novi Novog: viola and violin Peter 'Madcat' Ruth: harmonica Quinn: drums, percussion.
