The Treble Makers debut release, "Treble Makers", is the culmination of over 10 years of improvisational instrumental collaboration between guitarist/songwriter Ted O' Connell, guitarist "Freeway" Frank Bohan, bassist Jeb Harrison and drummer Kevin Hayes. Produced by acclaimed singer/songwriter Bonnie Hayes and mixed by grammy-award nominee Jim Dean, "Treble Makers" captures the organic, spontaneous interplay of four veteran virtuosos, set against the harmonic backdrop of Ted O' Connell's original songs, two of which were composed with longtime collaborator "Freeway" Frank Bohan. The unique style covers a variety of grooves: pop, country, latin, funk and slow ballads make up a colorful mix. The sound is also unique and captivating: The guitars were recorded through O'Connell's custom-made "Bassboy" amplifiers, which have recently become a favorite of guitarists Bob Weir, Jimmy Dillon and Tal Morris. The amazing tonal quality of the amps showcase O' Connell's fluid and creative Stratocaster technique which is akin to today's top tonalists. Combined with Bohan's solid Telecaster rhythms, harmonically diverse single-note soloing, all atop the irresistible pocket laid down by Harrison and Hayes, "Treble Makers" is truly in a class by itself. Each performer has musical pedigrees in their own: Drummer Kevin Hayes toured with the Robert Cray Band for almost 20 years, and began his career as a teenager with the legendary vocal jazz trio Lambert, Hendricks and Ross; Bohan is the leader of the popular Zydeco Flames; Ted O' Connell spent many years as lead guitarist for Bonnie Hayes, and Jeb Harrison founded the legendary Bon Tempe band, followed by the internationally popular "mexabilly" band Call Me Bwana. Together, these four veteran musicians, with the help of Bonnie Hayes and Jim Dean, have created an electric guitar instrumental "tour de force" that is as timeless and it is contemporary.
