Toxicana was formed in 2008 by Doug Lozier and Brent Wright. After several years of performing throughout Southern California under several different band names, Toxicana hooked up with producer/artist Tommy Andrews (Daredevil Jane) and drummer Gregg Gersen (Billy Idol) to arrange and record their debut album 'Pandemia'. The concept for Toxicana, a name derived from "Toxic America", originated from the decade-long corruption and greed of Wall Street beginning with the collapse of Enron to the more recent Madoff scandal. Interestingly, Doug Lozier (singer/songwriter) and Brent Wright (guitarist) have enjoyed successful business careers as corporate real estate marketing executives with the large national firm CB Richard Ellis. Their unique experiences in the "dog eat dog" world of corporate America gives the songwriting and music a fresh perspective from which to draw. "Pandemia" is an 11-track rock album featuring powerful vocals, fist pumping guitar riffs, strong choruses and memorable hooks that stick with you long after the first listen. Toxicana succeeds in delivering a record that is incredibly diverse both musically and lyrically by combining powerful anthems, grinding rockers and soaring ballads. The albums third track 'Show Me' is a chaotic search for the true meaning of life but in the end leaves the listener with more questions than answers. 'Kickin' Life', a blues rock number with a catchy sing along chorus, is a salute to 80's arena rock. 'Fences' offers a reflective yet uplifting acoustic arrangement hinting of influences such as Alice In Chains and Nirvana. Toxicana has quickly gained local and national attention since the release of "Pandemia" on June 15th, 2009 with several of the tracks getting radio airplay on Rock 105.3 (KIOS-San Diego), FM 94.9 and Sirius Satellite Radio. Freestyle motocross company Metal Mulisha recently selected the albums second track 'Vicious Cycle' for it's new video featuring X Games star Todd Potter and ESPN is considering 'Kickin' Life' for promotions. 'Pandemia' is now available Worldwide on iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and other major digital outlets. Toxicana is planning a Fall 2009 Tour in support of the new record with exact dates and locations to be announced.
