Time Spent EP
Arthur Daniels (lead & background vocals), Terry Bernett (saxophone), and James Wayman (guitar, bass, vocals) comprise Three Finger Pour. Their debut EP started life as a follow-up to Wayman's HEALING SONGS album from 2008. With the addition of Daniels, the songs have taken on a deeper and more soulful quality. Bernett's saxophone gives a less conventional soloing instrument than you'll presently find in the rock/pop genre. The name, Three Finger Pour, evokes a spirit of high quality that is to be savored rather than merely consumed. As with spirits of this quality, a little music goes a long way. This EP strives to be of the same high quality, in which only the best parts were made available to be enjoyed. The music has an urban sophistication, while the lyrics remain true to down-home values. The EP is populated with lyrical themes of overcoming adversity, finding a common ground, and seeking optimism in the darkest of times. Listen carefully and you'll hear many influences from the '60's to the modern day. It consists of a complex mixture of alternative rock, soul, country, and classic rock. Definite influences include Queen, R.E.M., Temptations, Seal, and XTC, though you'll have more fun drawing your own connections and conclusions while listening to this EP... If you liked the HEALING SONGS album, you really will want to check this out.
