Fall to Earth
Fall To Earth Told with classical piano, jazz and electronica Fall to Earth tells the instrumental story of how events from the past can have an unforeseen and sometimes catastrophic effect the present day. Historical Background World War II draws to a close. The Third Reich, to save itself, engages in desperate attempts to construct "super weapons". But these weapons, among them the first jet airplanes, "Die Glocke" and rockets, fail to turn the tide of the war. Dietrich Eckart's son and his lover, Suzanne Blavatsky, form the "Society of Thule" in an attempt to utilize the occult to achieve these same ends. They ultimately fail but become convinced the Reich's only salvation is electronically transmitting a plea for occult aid directly into the heavens. The society secures a small network of powerful German radar systems near Berlin in March, 1945. With the antennas directed at Ursa Major a series of occult symbols, encoded by Blavatsky, is transmitted repeatedly until Berlin falls in May. Blavatsky is killed and the key to the coded signal is lost in the chaos of Allied victory. Some seventy years after Germany surrenders Blavatsky's signal, along with other early radio and TV broadcasts, fall on unlikely ears far from earth. An alien machine, half frozen in the surface of a forgotten ice planet, detects these transmissions, then discovers and deciphers Blavatsky's code. As the planet reaches perihelion it's dwarf star triggers a slow, creeping thaw. The machine, dormant for thousands of millennia, stirs again to life, Blavatsky's message dancing through it's cold, metallic consciousness. With this new scent of desperate prey stirring the machine's vile appetites it returns once more to the heavens. This time for Humanity... Today Coffee at sunrise, a walk, family and lovers out on the town. But tranquility, peace and sanity are shattered forever with the machine's fall to earth. Our childhood ends. The "Clockwork Angel" is at first benevolent; bestowing riches, equality and power to any drawn into it's influence. But lives and families are ruined by the seeds of greed, lust, and sloth the machine sows among these "gifts". Too late Humanity realizes it's mistake. An attack is mounted. The machine, in retaliation, rains down a corrosive and vile ichor on disciples and enemies alike that dissolves their very souls from within. Those who can flee. Centuries of human diaspora accumulate in the kingdom of Nython beneath Everest's now shadowed peak. There a doomed Princess desperately plots earth's salvation...
