Solenne Païdassi, winner of the 2010 Long-Thibaud Competition offers her first recital for the Aparté label. She has chosen a program of narrative works by Szymanowski and Stravinsky. With Mythes, inspired by Greek legends, Szymanowski declared that he had created "a new mode of expression for the violin." His three Paganini Caprices are a wry comment both on Vienna and on Paganini. Also featured are transcriptions from Stravinsky's ballets Le Baiser de la fée and Pulcinella. Accompanied by pianist Frédéric Vaysse-Knitter, Païdassi takes US into another world, full of warmth, color and whimsy.
