Sweetkbye is Eric Irvin and James Wallis. Eric and James met in the Fall of 2007 and have been collaborating since then, resulting in this first album. They have already started to record their second album, untitled at present.Eric has roots in jazz and classical music as well as classic rock and the current pop/alternative. He plays many instruments, including acoustic/electric guitar, tenor saxophone, piano/keyboard, drums, bass guitar, mandolin, and vocals. He has been involved in several larger bands (including 'The Sneeks' and 'PayDirt') but also wanted to strike out on his own. He has written his own music for several years and was excited to find a like-minded musician in his friend, James, also a singer, songwriter, and pianist with extensive and varied vocal experience. In the Winter of 2008 they began to work seriously on their first album together and began recording with HighRise Productions soon afterward. Eric and James have discovered through this venture that they are more inspired as partners than they were as individual artists, so expect to see this duo conquer the music world one step at a time. For those who are curious, Sweetkbye is titled after the words their friend, Joel, used one day when leaving them after an afternoon of watching them record.
