Down & Up Blues
'Their predominantly bluesy style melded elements from the muddy depths of the art form with catchier almost-pop melodies to create a very pleasing though edgy sound.' say's Jason McLean of the of the Montréal blog Forget The Box, about Sunshine, the indie-folk blues duo residing in Brooklyn NY. Both members sing in the band while Amy Santos plays bass and Steven Ferrara plays both Dobro and electric guitar. Being amongst a deep network of friends in both the NYC and Montreal music scenes, Sunshine performances often include many "guest bands" of each cities' finest musicians. Sunshine has taken their show on the road performing in Montreal, Nashville, New Orleans, Austin, and San Francisco. Though writing under the name since 2004, Sunshine played their 1st live show in 2009. Down and Up Blues will be their 1st full length release. It was recorded at Happyland Studios in Brooklyn as well as the Oscar Peterson Hall and La Terrasse in Montreal.
