In a tiny Northern Michigan town, the brothers Charbonneau began playing their instruments at fairly young ages. Starting with Eric on guitar, then Jeremy on drums, and finally a very young Nathan on bass, they started honing their chops on Metallica and Iron Maiden songs, among others. Over the years, several cover songs were learned, and then played in many bars with many singers for many long weekends. Eventually going their own ways on different paths in different directions for different reasons, the brothers decided to call it quits. But time has a way of turning things around. After a few years the brothers eventually found themselves living in the same area. Realizing some chemistry was being wasted, a few jam sessions made them decide to pick up where they left off, with one condition...NO COVERS. Enter Joey. A former schoolmate and mutual friend from was asked to join, and after the very first jam session something special was spawned. With Eric on vocals and the addition of a new guitarist, the band decided to get more serious and donned a new name - Stilllife. Countless practice nights produced enough material to merit recording an album. A studio was built by the band, who had no idea where to start. Time went by and tracks were recorded...and re-recorded...all with no outside help. But the persistence paid off. In late 2010 Stilllife independently released their debut album 'Requiem', which contains a unique mix of heavy, yet very dynamically melodic harmony-driven progressive rock/metal, incorporating both classic and modern elements.
