Product notities

INTIMATE STRANGERS: TALES OF DARK SUSPENSE Based on the short stories of Stanley Wiater "Intimate Strangers" is a fully dramatized collection of four classic stories from the creator of television's Dark Dreamers™. Utilizing top-notch performances and superb state-of-the-art sound design, Voices In My Head® Productions presents these unforgettable tales of psychological terror by the three time Bram Stoker Award-winning author. The Toucher was the sole winner of a competition judged by Stephen King. * End of the Line: A late-night subway passenger fears that the person sitting across from him looks frighteningly familiar. * The Toucher: A young girl from the backwoods of the 1930's must deal with a new stranger in her small town. * Moist Dreams: Which is the worst fate-the nightmare or the morning after's reality? * Mysteries of the Word: Only a single word stands between a young boy's life and a horror straight out of the Cthulhu Mythos. About the Author Stanley Wiater is a widely acclaimed and award-winning observer of the dark side of popular culture. He has been hailed as "the world's leading expert on horror filmmakers and authors" (Radio-TV Interview Report) and "the top horror journalist in North America for the past twenty-five years" (Rue Morgue). He is best known for his documentary series, Dark Dreamers™, which he created, writes, and hosts. The half-hour show profiles the writers, actors, directors, producers, and special effect artists who explore the horror and suspense genre. His first collection of exclusive interviews, Dark Dreamers: Conversations with the Masters of Horror, won the Bram Stoker Award from the Horror Writers Association in 1991. In that same year he wrote The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Treasury, the only authorized overview of the international pop culture phenomenon. A companion volume to Dark Dreamers, entitled Dark Visions: Conversations with the Masters of the Horror Film (1992), was a Bram Stoker finalist. Comic Book Rebels: Conversations with the Creators of the New Comics (1993) co-authored with Stephen R. Bissette, was both an Eisner Award and Harvey Award nominee. While Dark Thoughts On Writing-Advice and Commentary from Fifty Masters of Fear and Suspense won him the Bram Stoker Award in 1998. He has edited two original anthologies of dark fiction Night Visions 7 (1989) and After the Darkness (1993). His own short stories have appeared in such anthologies as Touch Wood, Borderlands 2, Masques 3, and Hot Blood 11. His first short story, "The Toucher," was the sole winner in 1980 of a competition judged by Stephen King. In1993 and 2005 he was honored as the master of ceremonies at the World Horror Convention. Wiater's more than 700 interviews, articles, scripts, and stories have been translated into 15 languages. Other works include Dark Dreamers: Facing the Masters of Fear (2001) an art book with photographer Beth Gwinn showcasing 100 of the genre's greatest talents from around the world. It won Wiater his third Bram Stoker Award. He is also the co-author of The Complete Stephen King Universe (2006), which Publishers Weekly has labeled "indispensable."
