Product notities

My name is Sound Refuge and no show that I play is ever the same. I am a solo artist with some sort of a band playing with me 90% of the time. The assortment is always different: a collage of friends, teachers and sessions players. My music would fit into the genre of rock, with a dash of folk. Something like if David Usher, Incubus, Placebo and Cat Stevens were to have a baby.  I am based in Vancouver, BC. I recently released my debut album, "Umbrellas In Winter" - 12 songs fleshed out with a myriad of instruments including mandolin, which has found it's way into my music as of late. The album will be available on iTunes, Amazon and other online stores. A CD release show at Cafe Deux Soleils on April 25th, 2010 marks the beginning of many more shows to come. My song Vancouver's On Fire (pre-album version) was included on CBC Radio 2's Great Canadian SongQuest, and I had an interview and played live on 107.9 Evolution Radio. I've also taken up vocal lessons with Spencer Welch, one of only 8 Level 5 masters of Speech Level Singing in the world. And I myself teach guitar classes to over 70 students, both children and adults, which has proven invaluable for my own musicianship. My focus now is to promote the album, "Umbrellas In Winter", with all I can muster. As well, I will continue to improve on my skills as a musician, my knowledge of the industry and play everywhere possible. I'll also try to remember to heed my own advice from time to time: "Don't worry, you'll get there, eventually. Don't worry, you'll get there, just believe." Lyrics: After Five Our concept of time changes again, I change the clock while I drive, After Five Life's in 5th but sometimes 4th is all that you have Can't keep up, Some drive to fast, Without a hint as to where or when Five is a friend Leaving life to cards, it's one way to live Taking a dive, After Five Favorite numbers, a 6 card spread But hearts can turn to knives, After Five Watch out for the road blocks Stay tuned for the answer Up ahead's labelled danger And you've already set fire to... The ropes that held you down, The wings that pulled you up, The armor that you threw down, Opening your heart up And you'll drive, and you'll drive, As long as forever until you arrive, But you'll always arrive, After Five. Written By: Markus Michelucci/ Markus Michelucci - acoustic guitar and vocals/ Robin Hunter - electric guitar/ Jonathan Reichert - drums/ Jim Peers - piano/ Eric Weiden - organ, percussion, electric guitar/ Darren Radtke - bass just believe You're living with your friends in their little tiny house, you're looking to get out and set everybody free, you're just waiting for that cash that you need. And all the trees they're blowing everywhere, you live close to the beach but you're never, ever there, you don't know what the value of it is. You picked up a book and you read it for the joy, you wondered if it might provide some insight to your life, just read on you might be surprised. And rent's so high there are people struggling for their lives, the people on the street you pass and never look twice. It's hard to be calm when the storm is coming faster than you can run. Just don't give up. She thought that she had found a boy that she could love forever, but then the time came and you had to leave her, let her know that it's your one regret. Now the cold air, oh, it touches you, and the chill settles in, it's only looking for a warm place to live, it just so happens you are too. Clever little anecdotes in every single song, repeated imagery, with subtle undertones, it's music that sets your pace of life. And rent's so high there are people struggling for their lives, the people on the street you pass and never look twice. It's hard to be calm when the storm is coming faster than you can run. Just don't give up. You moved out west to be some kind of star, to play your heart out to the crowd, and though it's hard to be found, you will find all you need, and don't worry you'll be there eventually, and don't worry you'll get there just believe. Written By: Markus Michelucci Markus Michelucci - acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals Tanya Battaglia - vocals Jonathan Reichert - drums Jim Peers - piano Eric Weiden - synth Darren Radtke - bass For more lyrics visit Sound Refuge online: soundrefugemusic.com or send me a message via facebook or myspace.
