Maria Farantouri the greatest voice of Greece is a towering figure of the Greek music scene, an unquestioned diva moving easily between tradition, classical and pop music. Maria Farantouri Sings Taner Akyol is a continuation in her long political involvement for freedom and democracy. She sings Greek translations of old Anatolian poems, even one piece in Zaza, an ancient Anatolian language also described as a Kurdish dialect and which recently has been added by Unesco to the group of languages endangered by extinction.
