The Secret Sorrow is the second installment from Signs of Rain. Hailing from Westchester County in New York, Signs of Rain is an original smooth jazz outfit that boasts the ambient and cinematic sound of New Age. Founded by Glenn Dagrossa and Ronald Porcelli in 1999, the two met as members of 80's metal sensation 'Lazarus' in 1988. After a five year career, they split up to complete their music education and start families. The two were reunited in 1997, renewed their friendship, now as brother in laws, and formed Signs of Rain. The pair began to assemble other musicians and experimented with recording. By 1999 the band had become a 5 piece group. Work began on writing songs which would later be recorded for August Night, Autumn Sky. Their first release August Night, Autumn Sky has won them acclaim from all points of the globe. The CD made the Top 10 of the International Unsigned Musicians Association Jazz, New Age, World Beat, and Easy Listening Charts it's first week, and has remained there since 2001. Song Corazon de Leon became the official theme song to WKRQ's Miami Latin Jazz show. A Brothers Bond was used by television show '20/20' in a segment on family. 'The New Age of Smooth Jazz', said the Jazz Times. 'A meditation of the senses', wrote New Castle Times '...the gift of relaxation'. In 2002 the band regrouped. With support musicians, Glenn and Ron returned to the stage in November of 2002. With a new plan drawn up, they began recording a follow up CD in April 2003 at their personal studio 'Studio On a Strap' in Briarcliff Manor, New York. The CD entitled 'The Secret Sorrow' was released to a packed house at New York Central Park's 'Tavern on the Green' on April 22nd, 2004. Glenn and Ron can be seen performing all across the country as a duo or with live drums in support of The Secret Sorrow. This allows for performances at large venues as well as very small venues, at any volume necessary. They have recently been joined by drummer Jim Baggio, who performed on August Night, Autumn Sky. Besides live performances, Glenn and Ron recently recorded a television documentary about Signs of Rain for NCCTV in New York which will air sometime in September 2004.
