Couple Sandwiches Short of a Picnic
Signal Burden is an indie band from Philadelphia. Rick (Cackle) Cox is manning the helm for the new CD 'Couple Sandwiches short of a picnic' as singer/songwriter/vocs/guitar/bass with drums provided by Josh Philips. The band is currently looking for a guitarist and bassist located in and around the Philadelphia area. Current plans to tour are unknown at this point. The new CD 'Couple Sandwiches short of a picnic' is full of hard-hitting rock and punk anthems with a few well-placed ballads sprinkled in. The rock song 'What you get' kicks the album into overdrive followed by 'I want my bong' and the very punkish Nirvana-influenced 'Liar, Liar, Liar, Liar'. 'Steppin Forward' then leads the way for a more introspective look on one's call to action while 'Why haven't we fought' questions what our species is creating and the ramifications of those actions on our environment. 'Reticent' deals with a confused romantic while 'Facebook Fatigue' pretty much explains itself. Other notables include 'When I lost her' about an untold tragic car accident while 'Go to sleep' is somewhat of a funny and demented lullaby for children who refuse to go to sleep. Also, a baby rap song titled 'Two-teeth grin'.
