Shotgun Opera is a Detroit based hard rock five piece founded in January of 2008 when the Scarzo Brothers (Rory Scarzo on lead guitar and Rich Scarzo on drums, formerly of Solosun) began writing songs with Jeff Cavataio (one of Detroit's most impressive hard rock vocalists, formerly of Caliber). By June of 2008, they found bass player Chris Nicol (formerly of Liquid Reality), and were ready to show southeast Michigan what they had been working on. Right away, local music fans could see the potential in this lineup, and responded to the depth in their songwriting. Another local musician and producer, Eli Brown (formerly rhythm guitar player for Overloaded) also took notice of the energy in their music and officially joined the group in January of 2009. After a year in the studio, through ups and downs, Shotgun Opera has finally released their debut self titled album. In the months leading up to it's release, the band has impressed local audiences with one of Detroit's most energetic live acts to hit the stage in years, and the fans have responded by showing up again and again to rock with the group and show their support. Now, Shotgun Opera is ready to take their music to the national level. Take a moment to listen to a few of the tracks and see why Detroit fans were so eager for this album to drop.
