Bio for cdbaby, 10/20/10 During Sheldon Merel's outstanding career as cantor and concert artist he presented concerts at: Notre Dame University, San Francisco Opera House, Canadian Stratford Music Festival, San Diego State University and several symphony halls in San Diego. He won first place among lyric tenors in the Chicago Tribune Music contest and was a member of the San Francisco Opera Guild Talent Bank. General Director, Ian Campbell of San Diego Opera wrote, ' Cantor Merel's voice is a wonderful example of male singing and cantorial artistry. He has attained a formidable level of vocal excellence.
