At age eight he began studying Medieval and Celtic harp with acclaimed harpist Cheryl Ann Fulton and soon went on to learn Scottish step-dancing under the tutelage of such fine dancers as Maggie Moore, Mary Janet MacDonald, and Sara Gratiot. Now seventeen years of age, Shayne is a primary member of the Celtic and Early Music ensemble Distant Oaks, and he has performed throughout the Western United States, Scotland, and Ireland. He has recorded with several well-known Celtic musicians, including Jerry O'Sullivan, Liz Carroll, and Patrick Ball. In 1997, Shayne began composing Electronic Music on a General MIDI sound card in his spare time, and eventually his endeavors led to a full-scale recording project. Over the years he has upgraded his studio to include some of the finest state-of-the-art electronic instruments and recording equipment currently available. Shayne lives in the wine country of Sonoma County, California, along with his cat, Murphy, and his dog, Gwyn.
