When I began my formal voice training at 13 years old, I actually thought I would become a Wagnerian soprano. Within ten years, the style had lost it's charm for me. I began in earnest to explore the rock, jazz, and fusion styles of singing, popular in the 70s and 80s. In the middle of the 90s I had the great fortune to meet Joanne Marlow. She encouraged me to rediscover classical singing, and I thank her for helping me reconnect with my artistic and cultural roots. I chose these songs for their melodic beauty and the sentiment of the lyrics. I hope you enjoy this collection of a dozen roses.
