Days Gone By
Shane Stoneman has been making music on a four track since the late eighties. This new album represents the latest evolution of his work as a songwriter and musician. Playing acoustic and electric guitars along with an electric five string bass player, drummer, and female back up singer, it is a record of nostalgia and desire that conjures up images of a sepia toned Steinbeck novel. The characters in the songs are record players, alcoholic nicotine addicted grandmothers, and tequila stinking women haunted by a hunger for love....and yet, the songs are upbeat and funky mid tempo cruisers. Glen Starkey of the New Times magazine described it: 'Stoneman's music has an undeniable sweetness, an earthy and natural quality that makes it impossible not to get caught into the swaying, sunshine -on-your-face feeling that washes over listeners.'
