The music featured in the present CD represents various periods in Shapira's compositional activity. The musical language reflects the development of conceptual approaches, from modality, through expended tonality, to an atonal concept. The general style of the music is a contemporary one, while preserving the links with the aesthetic values of the past. The melodic line is the leading element that shapes the structural form of the piece. The works recorded in this CD vary from short pieces (Little Suite, Three Miniatures, Rondo Burlesco), to more extended ones (Sonatina, Triptych), and to a wider and more complex form (Feelings).
