Just as the Ying and the Yang, we as individuals have our duality, our Second Side. The culmination of Mike Bates (vocals), Fred Christiansen (guitar), Michael Burg (bass) and Tim Clingan (drums) rising from the realm of musical creativity, Second Side was formed in 2004. Bring forth their musical collaboration of hard rock influenced by the like of Alice in Chains, Pantera, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Godsmack, Seven Dust, Iron Maiden, Queensryche and many others; Second Side began performing and wowing audiences in 2005 starting with their first performance at the House of Brick. It has been non-stop ever since, performing at venues like; The Casbah, Shooter's Hideaway, Roadhouse 69, Keysters and major events like the Pig Out (2005) and HAWGSTOCK (2006). In June 2007 Second Side release their first CD, self titled Second Side. This CD puts forth the perspective of the duality or second side of people's personalities. Songs such as "Beat Me Again" speaks of the cycle of abusive relationships. "Time Bomb" examines the nature of personal anger and the potential of the individual to explode if pushed too far. As people tend to turn a blind eye or chose not to care about what's going on around them, "Vigilante's Day Off" is a portrayal of just that. The powerful melodic, song, "Thanks A Lot For Nothin'" gives you a look at how dishonest and self-serving people can be. "Second Side" is an examination of our duality, how our moods, attitudes, perceptions and actions can go from one extreme to the other. Second Side is currently working on their second CD to be titled "Liquid Eye", which again will be an look into our duality, but from the perspective of within our society's social structure.
