I Beg to Agree
Album Notes : Thanks for listening. Here's some notes on the songs: Arithmetic: Sometimes ironies just blow me away. How could there possibly be two stores with the same name within six blocks of each other on the same street in Chicago? Don't tell me there isn't some impish supernatural force getting amusement by screwing with us! Fascinating Dreams: My best effort at being creative about January in Chicago. Not easy to do, they can be miserable. Confucius: I took a course once at Univ. Of Chicago. Comparing Jesus, Socrates and Confucius. My best effort at condensing Confucius into a few verses. Looking For Linda: I liked the way this morphed into a classical/pop kind of thing. By the way, she did show up, the transaction was made, nobody got hurt. My Replacement: Anybody for a piano recital? Perhaps they should be classified as child abuse. This is a combination of a couple of times I had to perform in front of people as a kid. Glad I can laugh about it now. So Green: I was amazed to learn that seeds in the ground can go hundreds of years before sprouting. Talk about patience. Give me some of that! The Loading Dock: Many loading docks in downtown Chicago open up to Lower Wacker Drive. Let's just say it's an "experience" down there. November Third: Musings about placid, languid autumnal feelings. I hate when it gets dark before 5:00pm in the fall. Why can't we just stay on daylights savings time the whole year? Maurine: Lexington Kentucky has some very cool topography. The hills, the pastures, the bluegrass. Throw the horses in and you got a ridiculous amount of serenity! Success: It hit me that everyone needs at least a small modicum of success to keep going. Personally I feel it in cooking oats successfully in the morning. It's like a chemistry experiment that always works.
