It Is Well with My Soul
Fans of Sarah Wickenhauser and her music have said, 'This CD is so beautiful. (We) feel we are at the genesis stage of what will be someday a great star!' Sarah, age 15, published her first CD in November 2010. At that time she had only been playing the piano for about eight months. She started learning the piano with the hope of someday composing soundtracks for films. A few months into her musical career, she got the idea to make a CD of her arrangements of her favorite songs. At that time this would have been a much harder feat; but that August, she got the opportunity to buy a digital piano that records it's own sound without using a sound studio and expensive external recording devices. In both her first and newest (second) CDs she has used this digital piano (a Yamaha Clavinova CVP 305). It has the capabilities of a synthesizer, with a variety of realistic instrumental sounds, but at the same time has the ease of use of a regular piano. Sarah's first CD was welcomed warmly by new fans in her small hometown community. To offer more to her audiences in this second volume of hymns, she strove to both increase the quality of song production and the detail within the song arrangements. She also added (in a few of the songs) some original compositions based on the chord progressions used in the songs. Sarah finds much of the inspiration for her musical arrangements right at home in the beautiful mountains of Central California. Being homeschooled also has given her the advantage of a flexible schedule so she can have plenty of time for music, art, computer graphic design, and her other entrepreneurial interests.
