Clogged Sinus Blues/ Funk
Sam Rappa has played guitar for over 60 years and started singing in bars back in the 60's when folk music was popular. His musical preference is the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and the old jazz standards. Currently (for the last 8 years) he's been playing in an Italian Resturant, early in the evening performing jazz standard dinner music and then later when the crowd is more relaxed, switching to some of his own songs plus the singer/songwriter ballads of performers like John Prine, Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, Dylan, etc. The main focus of his original songs is the words and the stories they tell, not about the melodies, rhythm or music. He combines finger-picking and flatpicking, depending on tempo and style of the song.
