So Glad You Came
On their debut album, Salvage Town bite off more than a young band should try to chew, swallow it whole, and come back for a second helping. The band, who take their name from fellow Kentuckian Chris Knight, have repossessed various aspects of American roots music and pieced them together to form a sound that's unique, bold, and more than a bit dangerous. From the sweet, loping, fatalistic ache of "Follow You Down," to the greasy honky-blues swagger of "Lovebomb," Salvage Town make music for people who spend equal amounts of time knocking back their drinks and crying into them. The title track, "So Glad You Came," is the biography a workin' man band that actually works, as catchy as anything coming out of mainstream Music City, but with balls. -Crackerjack, host of the Catdaddy Caravan Radio Show.
