In the middle of December 2006, Joshua teamed up with long time friend, recording artist and producer Gualberto. Working with lightning speed, in sessions that spanned the next two months, a ten track album was born. It's a fresh eyed amble through the deepest darkest woods of rock and roll. You know those woods full of young people dancing together, chilling out together, discovering their bodies together... The first full length Safetyglass recording is being made available this spring, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the band. Begun in the fall of 2005 Safetyglass was founded by Joshua Kerr as a means of pursuing his muse after the breakup of his previous band Henslow. The three tracks on the initial release, a single titled Put it Right, represented the direction that Joshua's writing was headed during Henslow's final throes. The tracks feature the rock solid drumming and legendary German precision of Gualberto's drummer Bastian (now back from touring Australia with Sam Joole and the Heart Attack), the fluid and dramatic guitar work of Henslow co-founder George Gordon (raising a boy and rocking the Inland Empire), and the steady hand of friend and Producer Geoff Tyson of Stimulator (and formerly of T Ride) in the producers chair and also on bass guitar, organ, and slide guitar. Safetyglass is glad to meet you. Please have some tea.
